OWLA Monthly Meeting – Bruce Natale Guest Presenter
November 4, 2020 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm
The Owasco Watershed Lake Association (OWLA) is pleased to announce that Bruce Natale has agreed to be the speaker at our November 4 Public Forum. These informational meetings are open to all via Zoom. They begin at 7 pm and last about an hour.Bruce will have retired as of the end of October after 31 years of public service. His November 4 presentation will focus on his contributions toward the rescue of the Owasco Flats, the large area extending immediately to the south of Owasco Lake. He will review the present land uses and parcel ownership including lands now owned by the City of Auburn, The Nature Conservancy, and the Finger Lakes Land Trust. A major project Bruce’s leadership has just completed is a ten year effort to plan, design, and implement three large high water sediment settling basins in the Flats alongside the Inlet. Bruce tirelessly led the push to make real these now operational diversionary basins. Justifiably proud of that major public service accomplishment, Bruce will explain why these basins are so important to the future of the lake, how they operate, and the large quantities of sediments expected to be captured every year. Bruce also will offer his vision of and recommendations for the continued restoration of the Owasco Flats going forward.
The public is welcome. Please attend and participate via the Zoom online meeting app. Click the REGISTER NOW button for Zoom registration.
