“Rain Garden Expansion Project”
as part of
Lake Friendly Living May Awareness Month!

The Owasco Watershed Lake Association and the Owasco Lake Management Council will partner with Cayuga County Parks & Trails to Expand the Emerson Rain Garden established in October 2021. Rain gardens use native plants in a shallow basin to capture runoff and reduce sediment and nutrient pollution of Owasco Lake- a Lake Friendly Living approach to gardening and accessible to all of us in the watershed. Please join us to help plant an adjacent wet area, transplant native plants from a nearby basin, and clean up the existing rain garden.

Meet at Emerson Park, Auburn NY to get your hands dirty, learn about the importance of rain gardens and have fun!
