OWLA Monthly Meeting – Dr. Hilary Lambert

The OWLA public forum on April 7 will welcome Dr. Hilary Lambert,  Steward/Executive Director of the Cayuga Lake Watershed Network. The topic of her talk is very relevant to neighboring Owasco Lake:

The 10-year Saga of Hydrilla in Cayuga Lake, & Other Water-Protection Challenges

Dr. Lambert’s  presentation will include a summary of the ups and downs of attempting to contain hydrilla in Cayuga Lake, eradicate it where found, and the role of her organization in educating the public to help find and report hydrilla. A cast of many individuals, agencies and organizations has been part of the fight – which continues in 2021. The wider theme of this talk is the importance of cooperation and networking across watershed and municipal divides.
