Our Partner Organizations

We are calling on all of the Associations and Organizations that are focused on water quality throughout the Finger Lakes to join forces and work together so that we can get to the answers faster.
OWLA Board Members spend numerous hours traveling and meeting with other state, regional and local stakeholder organizations to collaborate on a wide variety of Finger Lakes and Owasco Lake issues and solutions.
And we do more than talk and meet. We are volunteers ready, willing, and able to get our hands dirty and our feet wet. We take on projects that benefit both the water and the watershed. Let me give you some examples:

OLWMC

Owasco Lake Watershed Management Council (OLWMC)

The Mission of the Owasco Lake Watershed Management Council is to coordinate actions for protecting and restoring the health of Owasco Lake and its watershed to ensure that Owasco Lake will serve as a source of public drinking water, a recreational asset, an economic driver, and an important natural resource for the well-being of watershed residents and those who benefit from its protection now and for future generations.

WQMA

Cayuga County Water Quality Management Agency 

The mission of the Cayuga County Water Quality Management Agency is to protect and improve the quality of water in Cayuga County. Cayuga County is located in the heart of the Central New York’s Finger Lakes region.

FLRWA

Finger Lakes Regional Watershed Alliance

The purposes of FLRWA are to bring together the members, expertise and desires of the Finger Lakes watershed associations to preserve and protect their watersheds with a collective regional voice; to join forces to advocate for mutually beneficial regional changes, backed by sound research; and to promote collective actions that represent the desires of the entire Finger Lakes region.

Finger Lakes – Lake Ontario Watershed Protection Alliance

The mission of the Finger Lakes – Lake Ontario Watershed Protection Alliance is to facilitate processes that encourage watershed partnerships and implementation of action plans to protect and enhance water quality in watersheds in New York’s Lake Ontario Basin.

New York State Federation of Lake Associations, Inc.

To protect the water resources of New York State by assisting local organizations and individuals through public dialogue, education, information exchange and collaborative efforts.

What can you do to HELP?

Protecting Owasco Lake is essential to the maintenance of our community character and the improvement of our economic future. We encourage everyone to help the Owasco Watershed Lake Association personally and/or financially. By this commitment you will help keep Owasco Lake clean and safe.
