OWLA Public Forum and Elections

OWLA is holding its next Public Forum on June 1, 2022. This meeting will include elections for OWLA Board members and the passage of changes to the bylaws.  Per our Bylaws, any current member of OWLA  (one vote per membership) is encouraged to participate in the voting. We will be using a simple Zoom Poll with two items, similar to below.

After this business is concluded, an open discussion will be held about OWLA’s planned projects and programs for 2022 and beyond. All are encouraged to participate in this discussion!
Share your thoughts and opinions on protecting Owasco Lake and its watershed, and what you think needs attention!

Voting:

Proposition 1
Accept amendments to the By-Laws of the Owasco Watershed Lake Association, Inc.
Four key changes are:

• Update new phone number for the Owasco Watershed Lake Association, Inc.
• Enhance OWLA’s stated Purpose and Goals to guide the association’s Plan of Action.
• Acknowledge that participation in a meeting of the board or committee by means of a conference call, video communication or similar communication equipment or program that allows all persons participating in the meeting to hear each other, see pertinent visuals and to respond at the same time constitutes presence in person at a meeting and permits voting by the same means.
• Define Quorum: a majority of those who attend a general meeting of membership shall constitute a quorum at any general meeting of membership.

Officer and Board of Director Elections
One vote per membership will be cast via our poll for the entire slate of candidates for Officer and Board of Director positions.
