OWLA Public Forum – Thomas Butler: Atmospheric Ammonia Deposition

August 2, 2023 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

We are continuing our bi-monthly public forum series with Thomas Butler, Visiting Fellow, Ecology and Evolutionary Biology Dept. at Cornell. He also serves as Site Manager for the Cary Institute of Ecosystem Studies in Millbrook, NY.  His presentation Atmospheric Ammonia Deposition: An Important Source of Nitrogen to a Finger Lake Watershed will describe work he is doing to look at this phenomenon starting in the Skaneateles Lake watershed and now in Owasco’s.

This is important work that will shed light on how this source of nitrogen may be contributing to the increase of Harmful Algal Blooms and their toxicity.
