Public Forum “What does OWLA do?”
Wednesday, February 7, 2024
7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
We will discuss each of the following OWLA efforts and why each is important, why we invest our time and resources in these efforts, and answer your questions:
• Monitoring harmful algal blooms (HABs) and water quality in the lake and tributaries
• Actively reducing runoff into the lake by protecting watershed-critical hemlocks from the invasive Hemlock Woolly Adelgid and remediating roadside ditches
• Educating the next generation about Owasco Lake
